Six Flags Magic Mountain opened on May 29, 1971, as Magic Mountain and is now operated by Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. The 260-acre park sits on Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia, in unincorporated Los Angeles County adjacent to Santa Clarita. The park is home to 19 roller coasters—including Goliath, Twisted Colossus and Revolution—and more than 100 total rides, games and attractions, plus Hurricane Harbor, a 22-acre water park operated as a separate section of the complex.

The park markets itself as the Thrill Capital of the World and draws hundreds of thousands of visitors annually to its coasters and attractions. A school group on a spring trip, friends meeting for an afternoon after work, a family marking a birthday—Magic Mountain is the kind of destination that becomes a tradition for households in the Santa Clarita area. Season pass holders return dozens of times per year.

For families in Santa Clarita who spend time at local attractions and landmarks, insurance planning means thinking about what their households depend on. A 20- or 30-year term policy sized to the mortgage, children at home and years of income they want to protect keeps that dependence covered.
